No Good

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I was getting about halfway through, hating it, and scrapping it. I’ve been having an awful writers’ block for a while now and it’s starting to get annoying.
I hate when parents spoil their kids. My uncle was supposed to be here two days ago, but his flight was canceled and rescheduled for later that night. That flight was canceled, also, and rescheduled for the next day, so they decided to rent a car a few states over, fly there, and drive six hours the rest of the way, but nobody would rent them out a car. They ended up driving home and returning the next day for the late flight. They spoil their daughter, Tess, to the point where she’s turned into a bit of a snot.
At age six she received her first, most expensive on the market, pink iPod, had every Hannah Montana CD ever made, and hundreds of stuffed animals. Her birthday’s coming when she’s here with her parents so we’re expected to buy her a gift and make a cake. Usually this wouldn’t bother me one bit. I love present shopping, but there’s nothing she doesn’t have. What could we possibly get that she doesn’t have thirty of?
I don’t understand how parents can’t understand that by spoiling their kids, they aren’t doing them any favors. Sure, I’d like it if my parents gave me everything, but I think it’s made me a better person because things I want I need to work for and save up. I also have to think, do I really want this? Is it worth the work? Whereas if a parent buys a spoiled kid a toy, it’s just another thing in the closet.
A few days ago I purchased my very first pair of purple converse. I paid for half, as they were two times the price of shoes I’d usually get. It would’ve been nice if my parents could afford money for all of the name brand things I want, but I’ve started to see that name brands… they’re no better than anything else. All you’re paying for is the name.
With that little, fairly pointless writers’ block blog, I bid you farewell. In updates, I really haven’t gotten to do much. I have a new affiliate, Nancy, so visit her, and I’ve gotten a Dailybooth so feel free to follow me on there
I’ll of course follow you back.
